WASHINGTON, Feb. 24, 2026 /Christian Newswire/ — America has a moral responsibility to stand in solidarity with those risking their lives for basic human rights in Iran. We especially ask the President to stand with Christians in Iran who face extreme persecution and are the fastest growing church community in the world.

Katie Mahoney, Chief Operating Officer for the Christian Defense Coalition, states:
“As thousands of Iranians are being murdered on the streets by corrupt government forces, it is critical the United States government, President Trump, and America’s faith community stand in solidarity and prayer with these courageous freedom fighters and the Christian community who are being brutalized.
“We are praying for peace and protection for all Iranians who are seeking a better future for their families as they fight to reclaim their country, so that all may live in freedom and dignity. We especially stand with the women of Iran who have been disproportionately impacted by oppression, discrimination, brutality and violence.”
Alexei Laushkin, Founder of Kingdom Mission Society, comments:
“As a Christian, I am inspired by the courage of the Iranian people who are risking everything in the streets to demand their basic human rights. Any nation’s primary duty is the protection of human life and the preservation of fundamental freedom. The killing of over 36,500 protesters is a catastrophic betrayal of that mandate.
“We cannot remain indifferent to such a profound struggle for liberty and human rights. America has a moral responsibility to stand in solidarity with those who refuse to let their voices be silenced by fear.
“Tonight we call upon President Trump to discuss Iran’s historic struggle for freedom and human rights in his State of the Union address.”
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments:
“We believe a government’s primary duty is the protection of human life and the preservation of fundamental freedoms. The systematic killing of over 36,500 Iranians by their own government is a catastrophic violation of that mandate and an affront to the inherent dignity of every person. We are deeply moved and inspired by the courage of those who refuse to let their voices be silenced by fear.
“America has a moral responsibility to pray and stand in solidarity with those risking their lives for basic human rights in Iran. Silence in the face of such widespread government violence is not an option; therefore we call upon President Trump to advocate for peaceful regime change in Iran and call for a government to be established that will embrace human rights, justice and equality for the people of Iran during his State of the Union address.
“We especially ask the President to stand with Christians in Iran who face extreme persecution and are the fastest growing church community in the world.”
