JUPITER, FLORIDA – I recently discovered a place on YouTube that livestreams the Bible non-stop. It is the Scourby YouBible Channel. The late voice actor Alexander Scourby is often cited as the “greatest voice ever recorded” and of all those who have narrated the Bible, his performances quickly rise to the top of every list. Before his death in 1985, he recorded the entire King James Bible along with many other works.
On the Scourby YouBible Channel, in addition to the livestream, you can also pick individual Bible books to listen to and even sermons from Charles Spurgeon. As would be expected from Scourby, the Bible readings are all in the King James Version, but I don’t mind. I actually enjoy studying in the KJV every now and again. And they even put the text on the screen, so you can also read while listening.
February and early March are my busiest times of year, and this year has seemed even busier than normal, so I have not had much time for personal Bible study. Even so, this livestream has been a literal God-send, and I have had it on while I have been working. I am encouraged by Isaiah 55:11:
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (KJV).
Even though I don’t have much time for note taking or digging deep in scripture right now, His word is still ever before me and it will accomplish in me everything He intends it to. His word is forever alive, and it will not return to Him void!
