I have always loved the character Zorro created by Johnston McCulley. I could always count on the swashbuckling hero fighting a righteous cause in the name of the oppressed to provide me with a thrilling adventure. And, of course, that mysterious mask which transformed the meager Don Diego into a relentless hero was always a fan favorite. Zorro’s mask provided Diego with a new identity, and it allowed him to become the person the people needed. However, in today’s world too many of us have adopted masks and identities that were never who we were truly meant to be. We all have different roles in life, of course. I am, for example, a teacher and an author. However, when we are talking about our identity, there are only two ways to do it. You identify yourself with Christ or you do not. Anything else is a waste of time.
