Sometimes you just have to marvel and chuckle a bit at the Lord’s timing and sense of humor. Today as I walked out to my special writing spot in Riverbend Park of Jupiter, Florida, I was listening to the book of Jeremiah. On the journey, I came across a section of tall grass I needed to traverse. Tall grass always makes me leery of snakes, so I said out loud, “Save me, oh God!” Instantaneously after that I heard in my ears, “I will surely save you!” It was just the narrator of Jeremiah in my headphones, of course, but I could not help but chuckle at the irony. It was almost like the Lord had planned for me to hear it in that moment all along.
Oh, and I made it out to my spot without seeing any snakes – which is actually pretty unusual for this area. Thank you, Lord, for a safe trip and your boundless mercy toward me! Now for some writing!
