Statement of Faith
Thrive Christian Press is a family-owned and operated publishing company. We adhere to conservative Christian principles and hold firmly to biblical Christianity in our beliefs and convictions. Below is a summary of our beliefs as a company. Though this list is not exhaustive, it does outline the core tenants of our faith. It should also be noted that Thrive Christian Press and its employees understand there is diversity in the body of Christ. Thus, not everyone we write about will agree with us on every theological point. We believe the Bible does allow for such diversity. The Apostle Paul provided one such example in Romans 14:5-8 saying:
One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”
Our Beliefs are as follows:
Only One True God
We believe in ONLY one God – the eternally existent, holy, powerful and loving triune God revealed in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 1:1, John 4:24, 1 Timothy 2:5).
Six Literal Day Creation
We believe the Earth was created by God in six literal days (Genesis 1:1-31, Exodus 20:11).
In His Image
We believe God created man in His own image and gave him dominion over the Earth (Genesis 1:26). For a time, man lived in untested perfection in Eden, a garden like paradise (Genesis 2:15-17, Genesis 2:25).
The Curse of Sin
We believe all humanity is descended from Adam and Eve who were tempted by Satan and sinned, thus bringing the curse of sin on all generations afterward (Genesis 3:1-24, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:19).
The Holiness of God
We believe that sin separates all humanity from God as He is holy and can not allow wickedness to go unpunished (Romans 6:23).
Prophecy
We believe that beginning at the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, God began to prophesy about a coming Deliverer (Messiah) who would pay the price for humanity’s sins. These prophecies continued throughout the Old Testament (Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 53, etc.).
Israel and the Law
We believe God established the nation of Israel through which He gave the Law that sin might be revealed to the world (Exodus 6:7, Romans 7:7, Hebrews 8:10).
Need of a Savior
We believe that humanity is incapable of keeping the fullness of God’s Law, and thus is morally corrupt and in need of a Savior (Romans 3:20-22).
Death and Resurrection of Christ
We believe this Savior came in the person of Jesus Christ, who fulfilled each of the prophecies for the Messiah exactly and lived without sin. However, He was rejected and crucified. Three days later, He rose from the grave, conquering sin and death, and shortly thereafter took His place at the right-hand of God (Acts 13:23-30).
Salvation and Eternal Life
We believe that anyone who admits that they are a sinner, believes in the fact that Jesus sacrificed Himself for their sins, and commits their lives to Him will be saved and enjoy eternal life with Him. There is NO other way to salvation except through faith in Jesus Christ. Personal works will not reach God’s standard for righteousness, and thus can’t save a person (John 14: 6, Acts 16:31, 1 John 1:9).
The Holy Bible
We believe in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. It is the perfect guide for life (2 Timothy 3:16).
The Local Church
It is imperative for ALL true believers to be part of a Bible-teaching and obeying local church. This is to be done for teaching of the flock (2 Timothy 3:16), encouraging and stimulating one another toward good deeds (Hebrews 10:23-25), and discipline (Matthew 18:15-20).
Marriage
We believe marriage is a sacred institution created by God and intended for one man and one woman in a covenant and permanent relationship. All other definitions and sexual practices are sinful and not in keeping with God’s expectations for marriage (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5, Mark 10:8, 1 Corinthians 6:16, Hebrews 13:4).
