We live in very uncertain times. TRUTH is in the eye of the beholder and PRIDE is something to be celebrated, so says the world. Beyond even this, FEAR seems to reign supreme, which is often exasperated by one conspiracy theory after another. I have seen such fear destroy lives. However, as believers, we are not to live in fear of all that the world fears. I find this advice from Isaiah 8:12-13 to be profoundly helpful in times like these:
You are not to say, ‘It is a conspiracy!’
NASB
In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy,
And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it.
“It is the Lord of hosts whom you should regard as holy.
And He shall be your fear,
And He shall be your dread.”
Fearing anyone or anything besides the Lord is a waste of time and energy. We are called to put our trust, faith, and reverent fear in Him. After all, as it is also written:
Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28 NASB
